Pipl Alternatives in 2026: Search After Pipl Went Enterprise-Only

Pipl no longer sells a search box to individuals. Seven Pipl alternatives compared for two needs, a people search box and a people search API, with 2026 prices.

Threat Analyst at Revealer

Pipl is no longer a people search engine you can type a name into. As of September 2026, pipl.com sells three enterprise fraud products, every call to action reads "Contact us", and search.pipl.com opens on a login screen. Which Pipl alternative fits depends on which half of the old Pipl you miss. For a name search box, BeenVerified, Spokeo, Intelius, and Whitepages are the closest matches, and Revealer covers the email, username, and phone side. For the API, Pipl still sells one through its sales team, while Whitepages Pro, OSINT Industries, and the Revealer API sell one without a sales call.

Disclosure up front: we build Revealer.US. Assume bias and check our work. Prices and features below are from each vendor's public pages as of September 2026.

What Pipl is now

Pipl's homepage describes the company as "fraud intelligence for enterprise risk decisions". The products are Pipl Trust (an authorization workflow for card transactions), Pipl Search (an identity resolution API plus a browser tool called Search Insights), and Pipl Elements (modular signals). The site cites 5B+ identities across 150+ countries. There is no search box on the public site, the /pricing URL returns a 404, the contact page is titled "Contact Our Sales Team", and the product comparison page explains pricing as "pay once, only for the decisions made" without giving a number.

The consumer experience is gone. What remains is the API. Pipl's own documentation says a request "has to contain at least one valid name, email address, phone, username, user id, URL, or a full US address (including a house number)", and the parameter list adds VIN and age. That input flexibility is what most people want back, so the comparison scores every tool on what it accepts.

How we compared

This is a criteria comparison, not a lab test. We did not run the same query through every product and count results. We read each vendor's public pages and scored seven things:

  • What a search takes as input (name only, or email, phone, and username too)
  • What a session shows before you pay
  • The cheapest published price to see one full result
  • Refund and cancellation friction, as written in the vendor's own terms
  • Whether an API exists and how you get a key
  • Coverage, as the vendor describes it (US-only or wider)
  • The removal process for someone who finds themselves in the results

Where a vendor publishes no number, the table says so instead of guessing.

If you want a search box

The four consumer sites below are the closest match to Pipl's old name search. Spokeo, BeenVerified, and Intelius each state on their pages that they are not consumer reporting agencies. All four share a pattern: the search is free, and the report requires a monthly membership.

Spokeo

Spokeo searches by name, phone, address, email, or username. Reports sit behind a membership: $19.95 a month on the 1-month plan, or $14.95 a month on the 3-month plan, which bills $44.85 up front, with up to 100 reports a month. Plans are prepaid and "non-refundable", cancelling stops renewal without prorating the current term, and cancellation is online.

BeenVerified

BeenVerified accepts the widest set of consumer inputs in this group: name, phone, email, address, username, VIN, and an IP address for its fraud scan. Its subscribe page lists a 1-month membership at $36.89 and a 3-month membership at $23.98 a month ($71.94 today), each capped at 100 reports a month. The same page promises to "help you out or offer a refund" if you are dissatisfied, and cancellation steps are documented in its FAQ. API access runs through a business form with no published price.

Intelius

Intelius takes a name, phone, or address, and leans on unlimited reports as its pitch. The pricing page shows the People Search plan at $21.35 a month on a 2-month prepay ($42.69 total), plus two $0.95 trials (5-day for phone, 7-day for address) that convert to $35.30 and $34.95 a month. Downloadable report files cost a one-time $3.99. There is no email or username search and no API on the public pages. Cancellation is online.

Whitepages

Whitepages is the only site here with a real free result layer. Its homepage says free results "may include names, current addresses, and limited landline phone numbers". Premium starts at $5.99 a month for 20 contact lookups, the Business tier at $10.99 adds email addresses and property data, and a one-time background report costs $11.99. Inputs are name, phone, and address only, and the data is US. It is the cheapest published route to a full contact result here, with the narrowest input set.

Revealer

People Reveal takes a name, phone number, or email. A handle goes to the username search across 800+ platforms instead, and an email address also pivots into email lookup and data breach lookup. Every search runs live, in real time, at the moment you run it, against public sources and endpoints Revealer does not own, and Revealer does not retain your search data. The free tier is a preview, not a trial: 50 people lookups a day, plus 10 social and 10 breach lookups, redacted, no card. Paid plans start at $12.99 a month. Two limits: Revealer is a search layer over public and third-party sources it does not own, and no plan on any tier shows plaintext passwords or hashes.

Cheapest published monthly plan that shows a full result (USD, as of Sep 2026)
Whitepages (Contact Info)
$5.99/mo
Revealer (Starter)
$12.99/mo
Spokeo (1 month)
$19.95/mo
Intelius (People, 2 mo)
$21.35/mo
Intelius (Phone+People)
$35.30/mo
BeenVerified (1 month)
$36.89/mo

Chart notes: the Whitepages plan covers 20 lookups, the Intelius $21.35 rate needs a 2-month prepay, and Spokeo and BeenVerified drop to $14.95 and $23.98 on 3-month plans. OSINT Industries (pounds) and Maltego (euros) are left off a dollar chart, and Pipl publishes no price.

If you want an API

Pipl's API is still available, but only on a contract. The self-serve alternatives:

API Inputs accepted How you get a key Entry price (Sep 2026) Worth knowing
Pipl Search API Email, phone, username, user ID, URL, name, address, VIN, age Contact sales No public price Also sold as Search Insights, a browser tool for analysts
Whitepages Pro API Name, phone, address Self-serve signup, 50 free queries over 14 days $0.22 per query, down to $0.15 at volume People, Reverse Phone, and Property endpoints; US data
OSINT Industries API Email, phone, username, name, crypto wallet Included from the Intermediate plan £49/mo for 100 credits Credits do not expire monthly
Spokeo API Business use Email [email protected] Not published Free trial by request
BeenVerified API Business use Business form with a volume estimate Not published REST or bulk CSV
Revealer API Username, email, phone; breach search; Device Exposures Pro plan, up to 3 whitelisted IPs $79.99/mo Bearer token; a non-whitelisted IP gets a 403

Three notes on that table.

Input coverage is the real Pipl gap. Pipl accepts almost any identifier. Whitepages Pro is name, phone, and address, so it replaces the public-records side of Pipl and nothing else. OSINT Industries and Revealer replace the email and username side. Needing both in one call means stitching two APIs together, which is roughly what Pipl's contract buys you.

Self-serve means a key today. Whitepages Pro issues a trial key without a sales call, OSINT Industries turns on API access on the Intermediate plan, and Revealer's key comes with Pro ($79.99 a month) and works from up to three whitelisted IPs, so workers behind rotating addresses need a fixed egress IP.

What the Revealer endpoints do. The docs list a resolve endpoint that takes a handle and returns associated profiles, breach data, and device exposures; a username lookup that can also run as an email or phone lookup; a breach search; and a Device Exposures search. Every one of them returns credentials redacted. AI Deep Search runs the same kind of pivot loop from the web app.

Maltego is a different kind of tool

Maltego describes itself as "the all-in-one investigation platform that accelerates complex cyber investigations from hours to minutes". It is not a search box or a lookup API. It is a graph: you drop in an entity (a name, an email, a domain) and run transforms that query other data providers. The Basic plan is free with 200 credits a month, Entry is €3,000 a year, and Professional is €7,500 a year for up to five users, printed in euros on the pricing page. If your Pipl habit was pivoting through everything connected to a person, Maltego is the closest workflow; if it was "give me a report", it is more tool than you need. Our OSINT tools page covers where it fits, and OSINT Industries alternatives covers that vendor in depth.

Removal, which every Pipl alternative handles differently

If you found yourself in one of these tools, the process varies. BeenVerified has the clearest flow: search for your record, confirm by email, and most removals take effect in about 24 hours, free, no membership needed. Spokeo asks for the profile URL, confirms by email, and warns the listing can reappear because it aggregates public sources. Pipl's removal form takes a name, email, phone, and address, covers deletion or disclosure, and gives no timeline. Intelius routes requests through a privacy center page. OSINT Industries publishes no opt-out page that we found; its privacy policy lists a contact email. Revealer's opt-out works by suppression, not deletion, because we do not own the underlying data: a verified email is suppressed within 24 hours, and usernames, phones, and names are reviewed manually in about four weeks.

Revealer.US is not a consumer reporting agency. Its results are not consumer reports and may not be used for employment, tenant, credit, insurance, or other FCRA-covered eligibility decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pipl search free?

No. As of September 2026 there is no public search box on pipl.com, and search.pipl.com opens on a login page for existing customers. Free Pipl alternatives are Whitepages for names and addresses, and Revealer's free tier for redacted previews on names, emails, usernames, and phones.

How much does Pipl cost?

Pipl does not publish a price. Its pricing URL returns a 404, and the product comparison page says each suite is priced "pay once, only for the decisions made". Whitepages Pro API and OSINT Industries list their prices, and Revealer's API is included with Pro at $79.99 a month.

What is the best Pipl API alternative?

It depends on the inputs. For name, phone, and address, Whitepages Pro API is self-serve with a 14-day trial. For email, username, and phone across social platforms, OSINT Industries (from £49 a month) and the Revealer API (Pro, $79.99 a month, 3 whitelisted IPs) cover that side. No single self-serve API matches Pipl's full input list.

Which Pipl alternative works with just a username or email?

BeenVerified and Spokeo both take a username or an email on the consumer side. Intelius and Whitepages take neither. Revealer's username search checks 800+ platforms from a handle, and email lookup starts from an address, with a redacted free preview.

Do any of these tools show passwords from breaches?

Revealer does not, on any plan. Breach and Device Exposures results show that a credential exists and where it appeared, with the secret redacted. The consumer sites in this post market public records and contact reports, and none of the pages we checked describe a breach or credential search.

If you came here for the old Pipl, pick by input. Name only: Whitepages first, then BeenVerified or Spokeo if you need a full report. Email, username, or phone: start with a free redacted preview on Revealer, then paid plans from $12.99/mo at pricing when you need the full result, or Pro if you need the API.
